Simplicity and the Art of Facing Challenges

22 Feb

Over on Women’s Wisdom Web I’ve been sharing my inner wisdom relating to “simple truths”. There’s a discussion thread in the Guidance from Donna group, currently being discussed by me, myself and I (LOL) about releasing fears, struggles and old mindsets so we can move through our lives, challenges and all, with more awareness that we are really experiencing opportunities – opportunities to change direction, to clarify more deeply what we want, to awaken to more awareness within ourselves through the process. Most of all, we are exploring the truth that “all is well”, always, no matter what.

Read the whole “discussion” here and add your thoughts (if only to save me from talking to myself!!)

Here’s a quote from the discussion

There is FREEDOM to be discovered within you and your life. If you were to release every single expectation you feel that others have of you, including family, friends, employers, your community, the government, and even spirit itself, how would that feel? Right now, imagine there being absolutely no expectations of you. You are FREE. No-one else matters – their thoughts, beliefs and attitudes – that’s all their stuff. It’s not your stuff. You are free to do anything at all in any moment…to express yourself however you like…to be, do and have whatever your heart desires. This is how it is supposed to be.

Simplicity or complexity?

What would I do with 20 million dollars?

19 Feb

million dollarsSue & Steve posed this question in their latest video and someone else created a blog posted based on the question, so I thought I would too.

Actually, it’s funny because only a few days ago the big, fun, exciting amount I had in my head and was dreaming about was 22 million dollars. It just sounds good doesn’t it?

Money means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. To me, it means opportunities and freedom. It means that the essentials and bills are taken care of and then you can choose to take that course that appeals to you or take the family on a trip overseas to experience other people and places.

I also know that money is energy and it reflects what’s going on inside us (just as other things in our life reflect our inner world), so if I’m experiencing a lack of money, perhaps I’m feeling a lack of something within me.

Money is also our main material representation of abundance. In order to have an abundance of money, I have to tap into my inherent abundance within me and within the universe…to be feeling that awesome knowing that there is always abundance if we allow it into our lives. To allow it we must see it and feel it in and around us. It is so much more than money.

So back to the big question, what would I do with 20 million dollars?

The first thing that comes to my mind is a wonderful piece of land that has a stream running through it and some big boulders and trees throughout the property. A gorgeous house that’s open and feels connected with nature both inside and out. There’s a separate building that is a creative workshop and I can have groups of people come to my property for workshops, retreats etc.

I’d love to set up different opportunities, especially for women and children, to engage in creative activities and to connect with nature and themselves, even if it means setting up centres or businesses that others can run for me.

I’d also love to be able to pay a great assortment of inspirational, creative and spiritual people to come and be guest facilitators in workshops and retreats and other events.

See a theme here? lol

Of course new cars would be great, as would not having to worry about paying rego, maintenance etc.

When suddenly faced with such a large sum of money you do realise how hard it is to then come up with ‘things’ to spend it on. I believe that we feel like we need more and more money when we don’t have it, but having it brings in totally new considerations.

I’ve observed my own spending habits and can see that I’m much more likely to splurge on things I don’t really need, in order to feel good, when I don’t have much money. But having money makes you want to take time to make better decisions and you don’t feel so rushed anymore to have more and more.

To me, it’s about experiences. I’d love to be able to take my children to wonderful places, to explore and learn and have great adventures as a family. I’d love to visit the lushness of Hawaii, the sacred places and stones in the UK and the massive red rock we have here in the middle of Australia.

Would having 20 million dollars solve all my problems? Of course not. It would solve some problems but it would also open up a new world of contrast and considerations. But boy I don’t think I’d mind those contrasts! lol

How about you? What would you do with 2o million dollars?

Oh yeah and I’d also love to buy my mum a gorgeous cottage on a nice piece of land and perhaps shout the whole extended family to a special holiday somewhere. Cool!

Attracting Money Tip #1: When you visualise what you’d do with the money, FEEL what it’s like to experience that home, that car, that trip, that course, etc. Let your mind wander into the experience of having the things that would bring you joy and engage all of your senses. Feel it resonating from within you rather than just being thoughts in your head. This is how you come into alignment with that money…that money that you CAN indeed have.

Attracting Money Tip #2: Pay careful attention to the quick little thoughts that pop up in relation to thinking about money, e.g. thoughts that tell you that you don’t deserve that money or those wonderful things and experiences. Explore those thoughts because they are false beliefs that hold you back. Replace those false beliefs with the truth that you are deserving of wonderful things.

Likin’ my new blog theme!

17 Feb

That’s right! I’ve changed it again but that’s the beauty of working with Wordpress blogs, they have such a great array of themes and I discovered this one today and it really appealed to me.

I’ve also done up the banner to utilise the logo I created for the original Inner Wisdom and Creativity website. It really represents the feminine, the creativity and the spirals I love, that represent connectedness within and the ever-expanding cycles of learning and growth.

My about me page was very much lacking on my blog so that’s updated too.

Oh, and I’ve added a sign-up form to the right where you can enter your name and email address to receive news of my latest blog posts to your inbox at the end of each week. Easy peasy.

Things that are bubbling within

9 Feb

First of all, the big thing bubbling within me is that this year I am going to write “my” book. I’m not exactly sure of the content but it’s something I want to do. Actually it’s something that’s always been on my “things to do in my lifetime” lists or what others call their “bucket lists” (you know, things to do before you kick the bucket).

Well, writing a book is one of mine. The thing that differs now is that I know I have the content within me. There’s a whole heap of inspired, connected, soulfully wise stuff that I know can flow from and through me. I guess it’s a matter of starting in one spot and seeing where I end up, which is how I do anything creative.

The other thing I want to explore this year is my intuition. I’ve worked with my intuition for several years now, but I’m being drawn to explore it more consciously and more regularly. So I’m often pulling out one of my many decks or oracle or tarot cards. Perhaps engaging my intuition more, and flexing my “psychic muscles”, is actually linked to writing my book?

After all, I started out as a channel and did channelled messages for people fairly regularly and through eBay (good ol’ Ebay), along with other readings. In the last couple of years I haven’t done much in the way of sitting down and using my abilities in a focused way. It’s been more incidental and occassional.

Who knows what’s in store? Well, maybe I should if I’m talking about psychic abilities! LOL

So there you have it…I’m gonna write my book (perhaps the first of a few). I’m going to do it 1) because I want to and 2) because some people will find it helpful, insightful and inspiring. Do I want it to be a best-seller? No, but if it is, then I won’t knock that back. Anything I do is for the experience of doing it rather than what I can get from it.

Here’s to going with whatever is bubbling within!

What’s bubbling within you? I’d love to know…just leave a comment below…
